Born in 1967 in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, Eduardo Guerra Hernandez works in the long and rich tradition of printmaking. Guerra has mastered a unique brand of "colografia," a hybrid printmaking and etching technique. No two pieces are alike within his limited edition series. He individualizes each piece with varying colors using both the press and in his final hand-embellishments.
His art studies began at age 12 at the Escuela Vocacional de Arte Raul Sanchezin Pinar del Rio. He attended the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plasticas in Havana from 1982 to 1986. He then graduated from the acclaimed Institute of Superior Art in 1995. He now teaches at that same school. He has exhibited widely with solo shows in France, Spain and Cuba and group shows in the U.S., Portugal, Sweden, Mexico and Latin America.
